Enhancing Road Bridges
Downer Queenstown, an infrastructure and asset company, partnered with National Group to maintain multiple crucial and remote bridges in Glenorchy/Queenstown Lakes. The contract involved tasks from top handrail painting through to structural steel refurbishment.
The case study details the challenges faced during a complete refurbishment of multiple, remote bridges.
To the north of Glenorchy is the Dart and Rees River delta complex, which runs into Lake Wakatipu. With an abundance of water, there are a number of road bridges in the Queenstown Lakes and Glenorchy region that provide access to the town and surrounding area. A number of these are remote.
We discuss the region's pristine natural environment which demanded strict measures to prevent water and land contamination during paint preparation and our solution, and how we kept all key stakeholders in the loop throughout the entire process of each site.
